Scoot will receive 9 Embraer E2 jets through a leasing agreement with Azorra. In a March 30 interview, the airline's CEO, Leslie Thng, gave more details on how the airline intends to use the E190-E2 jets. The planes will arrive at the company from 2024.
The aircraft will be used on flights of up to five hours in duration, serving unspecified “non-metropolitan” destinations. The new planes have the potential to expand Scoot's network, in line with what the company needs. These aircraft have improvements in emissions, as well as in overall operating costs.
Thng said the company is preparing to receive these planes, as well as the necessary regulatory approvals.
More details on the use of the planes will be provided "when the time is right". However, the CEO said that, if the start of operations in 2024 is successful, more Embraer jets could be added to the fleet.
It is also known that the aircraft will carry 112 seats in a single class.
