Ryanair and its subsidiaries broke their own record by carrying more than 168 million passengers between March 22 last year and March 23, 2023. The previous record was 148.6 million in 2019.
The number of passengers increased 74% compared to last year, when 97 million were transported. The aircraft occupancy rate was 93%.
The company is experiencing strong growth. In March 2023 alone, there were 12.6 million passengers, representing a 12% growth when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In addition, the airline intends to transport more and more passengers, reaching 205 million in fiscal year 2025 (FY25) and 225 million in FY26, when more aircraft will be needed to meet all demand and fleet renewal.
This number guarantees Ryanair the title of the largest airline in Europe. The Lufthansa Group transported 101.7 million, while IAG and Air-France-KLM transported 94.7 million and 88.3 million respectively in the same period.
