Yesterday, April 11, Airbus published its data on new deliveries and new orders related to the month of March, completing the first quarter of 2023.
Airbus faces supply chain issues, as do every manufacturer in the world, and this is reflected in lower-than-expected deliveries.
There were 61 deliveries in the month to 37 customers, most of which were A320 family narrow-body aircraft: – 05 A220-300; – 26 A320neo; – 25 A321neo; – 03 A330-900; – 02 A350-900.
In the period, 20 new orders were registered: – 05 A350-900 for Lufthansa; – 10 A350-1000 for Lufthansa; – 04 A350F (freighter) for an undisclosed customer; It is – 01 A319neo for a private customer.
In January, the company made just 20 aircraft deliveries, with the number increasing to 46 in February and 61 in March. These numbers clearly demonstrate a trend and growth. However, the company still needs to accelerate deliveries if it is to meet its target of 720 deliveries this year.
Year-to-date, Airbus recorded 142 net orders (156 orders and 14 cancellations).
"Deliveries were down 11% from 142 physical deliveries in the same period last year, or a 9% drop compared to an adjusted total of 140. Last year, Airbus recalled two deliveries to reflect Western sanctions against Russia,” Airbus said in a statement.
Thus, the American rival manufacturer, Boeing, had a slightly better result in deliveries in the same period, with 130 planes delivered (against 127 of Airbus). In terms of new orders, it was slightly behind, with 120 (against 142 for Airbus).
