As already reported here, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said that the company already has plans to return to operating in Ukraine once the war is over.

Despite not knowing when the conflict will end, the company already knows how long it would take to return. "We could fly there in about two weeks," O'Leary said.

"We are actively looking for ways and looking for where we can go back to Ukraine," he added.

The CEO believes that the war will bring great opportunities for European airlines, as Ukraine's roads and bridges will be destroyed, so that the country will become more dependent on aviation.

The airline has hired around 60 Ukrainian pilots and around 80 cabin crew who are mainly located at Ryanair bases in Poland while waiting for the market to finally reopen.

In addition, the company expects to open 30 routes and have several bases in the country just 12 months after the return. Michael O'Leary said the company could become No. 1 when life returns to normal in Ukraine.
