Airbus announces April deliveries and orders

Airbus delivered 54 commercial aircraft to 32 different customers in April, as announced yesterday (9). In addition, the company obtained 5 orders for new aircraft, 4 of which for narrowbodies.

All figures were below the previous month, when the European manufacturer delivered 61 aircraft to 37 different customers. However, the numbers are 12.5% ""higher than in the same period of the previous year.

During 2023, until April, 181 aircraft were delivered to 54 different customers. The company maintained its target of delivering more than 720 aircraft this year. The manufacturer will increase the production pace of its popular narrowbody jet, the A320neo, to 65 units per month by the end of 2024 and 75 units in 2026.

In all, 6 A220s, one A319, 17 A320neo, 24 A321neo, two A330neo and four A350 were delivered. As a result, deliveries are up, but new orders are down.

Airbus said it intends to increase the pace of deliveries in the last four months of this year.

On another occasion, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury warned that the pace of deliveries would be significantly lower in the first half of 2023. The company suffered from a lack of manpower, as well as failures in the engines it uses, such as the A320neo and on the A220, which use the Pratt
