Boeing delivered just 26 commercial aircraft in April this year. Part of this is due to defects found in the MAX, which were the cause of the stoppage of deliveries. For comparison, in March 52 MAX were delivered, while in April there were only 17.
The manufacturer estimates that 75% of the MAX in its inventory will need to undergo a rework before they can be delivered. Boeing's current MAX inventory is 225 aircraft.
This was the weakest month for deliveries since July 2022. The number was also lower than the 35 planes delivered in April last year.
In total, the company delivered 17 737 MAX, six 787 Dreamliner, one 767F, one 777F and one 737-800 to be converted into P-8 Poseidon to South Korea.
Boeing received 34 orders during the month, but 21 orders were canceled, bringing the total to 13 net orders.
BOEING X AIRBUS
Until the month of March, Boeing was leading, with 130 aircraft delivered, while Airbus delivered 127 in the same period.
However, with April's figures, Airbus regained the lead in deliveries, with 181 planes, while Boeing added 156.
Furthermore, Boeing reported a Total Adjusted Backlog of 4,567 aircraft, while Airbus' number is 7,202 aircraft.
