On Saturday (27) the federal police seized a Beechcraft G36 Bonanza aircraft that was preparing to take off from the capital of Pará, Belém, bound for Petrolina, in Pernambuco.

Police arrested a man who was about to take off the plane with 290 kilos of skunk, a type of concentrated marijuana. The seizure took place in a private hangar at Belém International Airport. The pilot of the aircraft was not arrested.

The plane belonged to the Foursquare Gospel Church, which says it had no knowledge about transporting the cargo, but as soon as it found out, it contacted the federal police, who arrested the man and seized the aircraft.

However, the PF claims that information about the cargo came from airport intelligence, who felt the strong smell exhaled by the material.

In addition, sources say the plane was used by former federal deputy Josué Bengston and his son Paulo Bengston, who are the leaders of the quadrangular church in Pará.
