The black boxes of the Ukranian International Airlines Boeing 737-800 arrived in France today, July 18, and operated flight 752 in January this year and was shot down by mistake when taking off from Tehran to Kiev.
The country was experiencing a moment of great tension due to the recent assassination of one of its military commanders in Iraq by a North American drone. Iran was retaliating with its cruise missiles tonight, shooting American military installations in Iraq. Amid tensions, the Iranian military ended up firing at the civilian plane.
See in the article below, on July 12th, for more details on the possible causes of the slaughter.
The black boxes are being accompanied by civil aviation authorities in that country and representatives of the judiciary.
France and Iran have made cooperative efforts to move forward with investigations into the accident.
PROBLEM RADAR? UKRAINIAN BOEING WAS TROUBLED BY "ADJUSTMENT" ERROR (posted 12/07/2020)
According to the Iranian civil aviation agency, a key element for the downing of flight PS752, of the company Ukraine International Airlines, would have been an error in the adjustment of the military radar used to monitor the airspace around the capital of the country.
The system's operators would also have acted in uncoordination with their control structures. According to the note, the military man who operated the missile battery that fired at the commercial plane fired two missiles at the jet but had not received authorization from the coordination center to which he was subordinate.
The country's government vaguely claims that arrests were made in connection with the accident.
The two missiles fired resulted in the killing of the Ukrainian jet, a B737-800 model with 176 people on board.
There were no survivors.
