Gol, one of the three "big" in the Brazilian air market, revealed that it plans to return up to 48 737 NG aircraft by the end of 2022.

This plan already includes a total of eleven returns ("redeliveries") that took place in the first half of 2020 and seven more planned by the end of the year.

To this will be added another 30 planned for the years 2021 and 2022.

Of course, Gol's plan is not just about fleet reductions. As with any company in the sector, there are always planes coming and going. The company has a large order with Boeing, all of them Max models.

The current fleet operates 7 of these models, which for now remain "grounded" and should receive a total of 20 models by the end of 2020. This will represent a fleet of around 120 aircraft, considerably smaller than it once was in the heyday of pre-crisis air transport.

If the post-global economic recovery is confirmed, however, it is to be expected that at some point until the first half of the 2021-30 decade the company will fully recover and reach-surpass its past fleet.

It is what we all hope for!
