Uruguay intends to attack the locust cloud that plagues Argentina using its agricultural aviation to spray crop protection products against the pest if it reaches the neighboring country.
Attack with two planes Nestor Santos, secretary of ANEPA - National Association of Private Aeroagricultural Companies - informs that the plan is to use two aircraft to fight grasshoppers. He also informs that the ideal is to attack when the insects land to feed, once in flight the dimensions of the cloud become "astronomical".
1 title 80 hectares of insects! 2title When on the ground the multitude of insects occupies up to 80 hectares.
Although the number is scary - after all, there are still 80 hectares of insects! - this area can be easily worked by agricultural aviation, capable of covering much larger areas of land.
The executive added that the products that will be used have the full approval of the country's authorities.
