Airbus and Emirates announced a new order for 15 A350-900 jets. The order took place during the Dubai Airshow, today (16), the penultimate day of the event.
The list value of the order reaches US$6 billion.
The order adds to the previous one, so that the airline should receive 65 jets of the model between 2024 and 2028.
THE PROBLEM
The company, however, is not happy with the engines that power the aircraft, the Rolls Royce Trent XWB. The company's president, Tim Clark, said that the time between overhauls of these engines is very short, which would negatively impact the availability of the aircraft.
Rolls Royce, in turn, states that this is normal for operating locations with a lot of sand and heat.
INVESTMENT IN GROWTH
Adding the 95 units of Boeing planes that the company announced the purchase of last Monday (13), the airline has a total of 110 planes to receive. There are already investments of more than US$58 billion.
The company's total portfolio reaches 310 widebody aircraft.
