DHL is closer to deciding whether to choose the Airbus A350F or the Boeing 777-8F as its next-generation freighter. The choice of planes is part of the goal that the company has set for itself of using a 30% mixture of SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) by 2030 and zero emissions by 2050.

According to the company's senior president of global air fleet management, Malcolm Macbeth, the company will improve the efficiency of its aircraft fleet by 2025.

the company has a fleet of 30 A300-600F, five A330-200F, eight A330-300F, 23 Boeing 767-300F and five Boeing 777-200F. Additionally, there is a confirmed order for 7 B777-200Fs, with plans for a further 9 passenger-to-freighter conversions of the plane.

The company has a goal of zero emissions from all its operations, not just airline operations, by 2050. None of its major rivals have placed orders for the latest generation jets.
