Airbus reported yesterday (19) that the airline easyJet placed a firm order for 157 aircraft.

The order for A320neo family aircraft is divided into 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo aircraft. Additionally, the order includes a change from a previous order of 35 A320neo to the A321neo.

Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, highlighted the advantages of the order, such as replacing the company's aging aircraft, further expanding its fleet and helping the company's goal of reducing its CO2 emissions.

Airbus did not provide further details about the order.

“With this order, easyJet will be able to continue to cement its leadership position in the main airports in Europe and so we look forward to working in partnership with Airbus in the coming years”, commented the CEO of easyJet.
