For the first time in Asia, the Embraer C-390 is conquering its space. The plane was the winner of a public tender, being chosen, surpassing planes such as the Lockheed Martin C-130J and the Airbus A400M.

The country is the seventh to select the tactical aircraft to make up its air force fleet, alongside Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic. This is the plane's first customer in Asia.

The number of aircraft in the agreement was not disclosed, but it is estimated that it should include three aircraft of the model, worth around R$2.66 billion in total.

Additionally, the contract includes support services for the aircraft, such as spare parts and training.

The first C-390 should be delivered in 2026. In Brazil, the plane has been operated since 2019.

"The current fleet of aircraft in operation has accumulated more than 10,800 flight hours, with operational availability around 80% and mission completion rates above 99%, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category," said Embraer.

“We welcome the Republic of Korea Air Force to join the growing number of air forces operating the C-390 Millennium – the most modern military tactical transport aircraft. Day after day, the aircraft has proven its ability to execute a wide range of missions in an extremely efficient, fast and easy to operate manner.”, said Bosco da Costa Jr, President and CEO of Embraer Defense
