Airbus and Qatar Airways have had discussions about the quality of the A350 XBW aircraft delivered by the manufacturer, including debates about the aircraft painting process, which received much criticism from Akbar Al Baker, Qatar's CEO. According to him, the quality control of aircraft manufacturing shows flaws.

According to Reuters, Qatar had previously indicated problems in the quality of Airbus production, with similar justifications, in order to try to save time in the delivery of the planes, as the company would not currently be able to increase its fleet.

An Airbus representative told Reuters, the manufacturer is “in constant conversations with our customers. The content of these discussions is kept confidential."

Qatar announced at the beginning of the pandemic that, due to the consequences generated by the coronavirus, it would interrupt deliveries between 2020 and 2021. The company had even reached an agreement with Airbus to change the delivery schedule.

With the pandemic, Airbus is also going through delicate moments, as it had many of its orders postponed or cancelled. In fact, aircraft that have already been produced are parked in the manufacturer's yards, while awaiting new orders. However, demand is still low.

Thus, Airbus warned airlines that cancel new deliveries, even stating that they could take legal action.
