An attack group of aircraft carriers, simulating an enemy, was eliminated by the Russian Pacific Fleet in an exercise carried out in the central region of the Pacific.
During training, the Russian Navy split into two naval tactical groups, interacting with long-range aircraft and a submarine. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the two groups faced each other to train detection, counterattack and cruise missile attack against an enemy aircraft carrier and escort ships.
The Insignia ship, along with the missile cruiser Varyag, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov and the corvettes Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Gromky, were responsible for launching the missiles. The group acted in coordination with an attack submarine and the Tu-142M3 long-range anti-submarine aircraft.
