China's first paired spacewalk was undertaken by astronauts Boming Liu and Hongbo Tang. A third crew member, Haisheng Nie, supervised the mission from the inside. The mission was carried out last Sunday (4). The team was sent on the mission to maintain the module's robotic arm, installing components that could help in future missions. A second outing is expected to take place in the coming weeks.

Astronauts did the work on the outside of Tiangong, the Chinese space station. According to the China Space Agency, the mission lasted nearly seven hours.

Astronauts wore state-of-the-art suits while installing equipment that will be used in future missions, among other tasks.
The module was launched in April 2021 and China's idea is to turn the module into a space station for research, so new complexes must be coupled in the future.

According to the China Space Agency, the mission lasted nearly seven hours.
"The safe return of astronauts Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo to the Tianhe core module marks the complete success of our country's first space station walk," the space agency said in a statement.

This is the longest manned mission in China, with the team starting the mission in June and is expected to return to Earth before the end of the year. Watch the mission video at the link below.
