American Airlines announces that, as of December 1st, it will increase the number of flights, arriving at its 28th destination in Mexico from Miami. The company also announces flights from Miami to San Andres, Colombia.
Miami recently won flights to Tel Aviv, and will have a direct connection to Paramaribo, Suriname, starting in September, as announced Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of Operations at the Hub of Miami.
The flights reinforce the company's commitment to serving the hub. "With more than 30 years of service, American is and will always be Miami's local airline, and we are proud to strengthen our presence in our Miami hub later this year."
Operations to Chetumal (Mexico) will be carried out aboard the Embraer 175, operated by Envoy Air, its regional subsidiary. In all, 304 seats will be offered per week.
Chetumal-Miami flights have been offered for purchase since the last July 5th and have a weekly frequency, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
In all, there will be 28 destinations in Mexico, a record number among American companies, with 19.9% of the offer between Mexico and the United States, followed by United Airlines, with 18.5%, and Volaris, with 12.3%.
