Amaro Aviation works with aircraft sharing. His latest idea to attract agribusiness clients is to use planes that can operate on short or unpaved runways.
The company is bringing to Brazil two Swiss aircraft for sharing in agribusiness through quotas. This is not a new type of business as it has been used for almost 60 years in the US. However, it never worked in Brazil because of bureaucracy, an issue that was recently resolved by Anac.
“Financially speaking, the most logical decision for the agribusiness man or any business executive is for you to own a piece of ownership in an airplane and use as much time as you need. We sell eight quotas per aircraft, each one entitles you to 100 hours per year, which is much more than the Brazilian average flight of 70 hours. You buy a shared property, pay 1/8 of the plane, 1/8 of the expense and use 100 hours”, explains David Barioni, CEO and partner at Amaro Aviation.
The company's idea is to make it easier for the agribusiness worker, since the plane must be seen as a work tool for agribusiness. Of the more than 4400 runways in Brazil, at least 2000 are unpaved.
“Amaro was the first company to adapt to this. The administrator is responsible for every situation relating to the plane. Operation, employment, civil, criminal, any occurrence. The owner has to take care of his business and his farm. We take care of the plane.”
