Pavel Sozinov, principal designer and deputy director general of Russian radar and anti-aircraft systems manufacturer Almaz-Antey, told Sputnik News that Russian radars are capable of detecting US F-22 and F-35 fighters. "Currently for us there are no invisible targets. Manned aircraft in any version, whether stealthy or conventional, such as F-15, F-16, are all perfectly detected by our radars, our anti-aircraft systems provide safe protection against them." Sozinov says "Despite some reduction in the detection zones of the F-22s and F-35s, our advanced radar systems are guaranteed to work effectively against them," he adds.

Sozinov also points out that the stealth technology "aims to reduce, in conditions of interference, the detection zones of these aircraft and, consequently, their impact zones". However, "the reduction of possible impact zones is compensated by the increase in potential energy and for the protection against interference of our modern systems".

Over the past year, "low-visibility fighter flights from NATO countries" have been detected by the radar station beyond the Konteiner horizon, RTI said.
