The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has recently awarded type certification to Textron Aviation's newest Beechcraft King Air variations, the 360, 360ER and 260 models. The manufacturer has announced that deliveries will soon begin for European customers.
Tom Perry, Textron Aviation's vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, “EASA certification ushers in a new era for Beechcraft King Air in Europe. The King Air has been the turboprop of choice across the region for more than five decades, and the new 260s and 360s will build on that legendary reputation. We incorporate innovative, state-of-the-art technologies that enhance the flight experience of a proven aircraft.”
According to Textron Aviation, there are more than 460 King Airs operating in Europe, with half of the fleet belonging to France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The 360 ""and 360ER models received FAA type certification in October 2020, while the 260 model received it in March this year, four months apart. Both versions feature a Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion cockpit that features the Innovative Solutions autothrottle digital booster controller
