Brazilian manufacturer Embraer and Australian airline Alliance Airlines signed an agreement to support and maintain the airline's E190 jets. The long-term contract was announced by Embraer this Sunday (19).
Through Embraer Services and Support, the contract covers maintenance services and more than 300 repairable components. The contract also covers technical administration services with support from Embraer's facilities in Singapore.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Alliance Airlines at such a crucial time. Alliance Airlines quickly increased its E-Jets fleet, which proved to be critical as domestic aviation grew in Australia. This service contract will allow the Alliance to guarantee the availability of its fleet with effective, efficient and competitive solutions.”, said Johann Bordais, President and CEO of Embraer Services and Support.
The Australian airline has acquired 32 E190s, of which 12 are already in Australia and 20 are expected to start operating within 1 year. However, this type of contract is not new, with Embraer already providing support to other companies that operate its aircraft, making it easier for those who need the services.
“The Alliance is a world leader in on-time and operational performance, key attributes sought by our customers in Australia and across the region. The Repair Management Services Program we have with Embraer will increase the performance of our fleet and strengthen our business as we grow,” said Lee Schofield, CEO of Alliance Airlines.
