The Transporter Allianz C-160 plane, which carried equipment for the United Nations World Food Program, left Mogadishu, capital of Somalia, bound for Dolow Airport, in the province of Gedo. After landing on the main runway, which is dirt, and the crew disembarking, the plane was consumed by flames.
The reason for the fire is still unknown. The accident happened today, and as of this writing, there are no reports of injuries. Local authorities also did not comment on the accident.
The C-160, registration EY-360, was manufactured in 1985 and was completely destroyed by fire.
