On Sunday, the 13th, the Israeli Air Force received another 3 Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighters. The total was raised to 36 units. Israel will have a total of 75 units of the jet operating in three squadrons.

The new fighters will form part of Squadron 140 (Golden Eagle) and will begin operations in the coming weeks.

The 36 aircraft include an F-35 specializing in flight tests, which operates south of Tel Aviv.

Israel signed the agreement to purchase the F-35 in 2010, becoming the first country in the world to select the F-35 as part of a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) with the US administration.

As part of a cooperation between the US and Israeli military, a flight of two US B-52 bombers above Israeli airspace was escorted by two Israeli Air Force F-35 fighter jets on its way back. to the Persian Gulf. This was the first time that American jets are escorted by Israel's F-35, a mission that is usually done with the F-16.
