According to Qantas, the Airbus A380 will be used again on the 7,372 km route between Sydney and Hong Kong as demand grows.
The company had not operated the A380 on that route for 3 years.
Flights can take place daily or three times a week, according to the company's official schedule. When flights are daily, the Airbus A380 will completely replace the A330. When it is three times a week, the A380 will operate one, while the other two will be operated by the A330.
The Airbus A380 was conceived at a time when planes that could carry as many passengers as possible seemed more attractive. However, at the time it began to be marketed, twin-engine and more efficient aircraft were already taking over the market.
Despite this, demand for travel is increasing rapidly after the pandemic. As a result, some companies have found themselves in a situation where they must return to flying four-engine superjumbos to meet demand.
