China Southern Airlines acquires a Sikorsky S-92

Milestone Aviation Group, Aercap's subsidiary company focused on helicopter leasing, announced yesterday (1) the sale of a Sikorsky S92 helicopter to China Southern Airlines, which now becomes Milestone's new customer.
The helicopter is configured to transport passengers offshore and will be used in critical oil and gas exploration missions, as informed by the company.
“With the growing demand for offshore oil and gas exploration and production, as well as the continued development of the broader Chinese aviation industry, I believe there will be many opportunities in the future for greater collaboration with the Milestone team,” says the president of Milestone. China Southern Airlines General Aviation, Li Erbao.
"We are delighted to welcome China Southern as a new Milestone customer, following a long and successful business relationship with our parent company, AerCap. We thank the China Southern team for the trust they have placed in Milestone and look forward to work with them in the future," said PAT Sheedy, CEO of Milestone Aviation Group.
China Southern Airlines General Aviation (CSAGA) was founded in 1980 as the helicopter division of China Southern Airlines and today is China's second largest helicopter operator in offshore oil and gas exploration. It also operates in other areas, such as power line patrol, forest protection, charter flights, management of helicopters from other companies, among others.
