After the MAX groundings because of fatal accidents, Chinese airlines have been returning to service with the type. The airline Xiamen Airlines has reactivated one of the ten Boeing 737 MAX aircraft it has in its fleet.
The first Chinese company to return was China Southern Airlines, which returned with two units. Currently, in addition to Xiamen Airlines, several companies have returned to use the aircraft, such as Air China, Shandong Airlines, Jiuyuan Airlines, Lucky Air, Fuzhou Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
The other nine such devices in the company's fleet have yet to be confirmed for return to service and are listed as being stored in Lanzhou Zhongchuan.
However, Boeing has not restarted MAX deliveries in China yet, which is expected to happen later this year. The manufacturer has more than 130 aircraft of the type in its inventory waiting to be delivered to Chinese companies.
