According to the Russian news agency, TASS, Belarus will produce parts for Russian aircraft. These parts would be for the Tupolev Tu-214. However, they would also be for other Russian aircraft.
The Tupolev Tu-214 is a medium-range passenger aircraft with a capacity of just over 200 passengers. The plane went back into production to reduce Russia's dependence on foreign aircraft and parts.
This statement was given by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting on Thursday with the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
“Having retained the required skills and production capabilities in Belarus, we are ready to start production of various components,” said Lukashenko.
"Today we produce almost 500 parts for Russian aircraft," he added.
In addition, the leader highlighted the great potential for cooperation between the countries in the area of ""IT and digital economy.
