Boeing has discovered a problem in the manufacture of the 787 that could delay deliveries of the aircraft again.

The company claimed that a problem due to a non-compliant situation in a horizontal stabilizer attachment was responsible for the delay. However, the company claims it can still deliver 70-80 aircraft of the model this year.

The company says that the problem found does not affect the flight safety of the fleet already in operation. However, Boeing will have to inspect all 90 Dreamliners in stock. Additionally, it will take two weeks to fix the issue for each of the affected aircraft.

"The necessary inspections and remediation work will affect the short-term delivery schedule," the company said in a statement.

Boeing did not say whether airlines that already fly the model will have to fix it. "We have already notified the FAA and our customers and are keeping them informed of our progress."
