Comac delivered the second ARJ21 to the Indonesian company TransNusa. The airline, which was the first outside the Chinese market to receive a jet of this model, received its second aircraft of the model on June 10, while the first was received in December 2022.
The jet was introduced in the Chinese market in 2016 and already has 690 orders from 25 different customers. Of these, 100 have already been delivered to Chinese companies and to TranNusa, which made the Indonesian airline the first foreign market to fly the jet outside China. To ensure a favorable market reputation for the ARJ21, TransNusa Airlines conducted meticulous research into cabin services, passenger experience and catering.
The main reason to choose the ARJ21 is its excellent security and reliability. Since the first ARJ21 aircraft was delivered to Chengdu Airlines and started commercial operations in 2015, more than 100 ARJ21 aircraft have been delivered, accumulating more than 200,000 safe flight hours. Furthermore, the ARJ21 demonstrates good performance in conditions of high temperature and crosswind resistance, making it a perfect configuration for Indonesia, known as the 'Archipelago Nation', with its unique operational demands," said Leo Budiman, Vice -President of TransNusa Airlines.
TransNusa has 30 ARJ21 jets on order, which should arrive gradually by 2026. The aircraft are leased by China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC), which controls 49% of TransNusa.
In addition to regional routes, TransNusa plans to use the ARJ21 on international routes in the near future.
