90% of the Boeing 737 MAX in China have already returned to regular service, according to Boeing on its official WeChat channel.
Planes have been grounded in China due to fatal accidents since 2019. The country is a key market for Boeing and was one of those that took the longest to return to operations with the manufacturer's most famous single-aisle aircraft.
According to sources, at the time, 96 MAX were stocked, which represents all planes of this model available in China.
The first Boeing 737 MAX to return to commercial service was from China Southern Airlines in January this year. Some of the aircraft returned on international routes.
However, in the short term, Boeing still does not have scheduled deliveries of the plane to any operator in China. It is worth remembering that, in April, there were already around 130 MAX in stock ready to be delivered to operators in China. Last year Boeing even said it was looking to redirect the MAX that were for China.
Boeing has lost space in the Chinese market to its rival Airbus.
