Mexican airline Viva Aerobus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the acquisition of up to 90 A321neo.
The ultra low cost company, which is the exclusive operator of Airbus aircraft, wants to expand. If the 90 jets become a firm order, the company will have 170 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.
“These 90 A321neo aircraft with 240 seats will allow us to grow and renew our fleet and continue to be the youngest in Latin America. The technology and operational efficiency of the A321neo will improve our operational reliability, on-time performance and deliver an unrivaled passenger experience. In addition, we expect to generate even more cost savings, which will be reflected in lower airfares and strengthen one of our most important advantages: having the lowest cost in the Americas. The fuel efficiency and noise reduction that the A321neo offers will advance our sustainability efforts, delivering immediate and tangible reductions in carbon emissions, thereby improving our position as the continent's most efficient airline," said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO by Viva Aerobus.
