According to official data, LATAM Brasil transported 15.5 million passengers on domestic flights in Brazil between January and June this year. The number is 23% higher than the 12.6 million recorded in the first half of 2022.
“It is our commitment to ensure that more and more Brazilians can fly by plane. The results for the first half of this year reflect a sustainable operation and the success of our strategy of investing where there is demand. Today, we offer the largest network of destinations in Brazil and we will continue to look for opportunities”, says Aline Mafra, director of sales and marketing at LATAM Brasil.
Domestic passenger demand, measured in RPK, also increased by 18% in the first half of the year compared to the previous year, along with domestic seat supply, measured in ASK, which increased by 19%.
But the good results are present throughout the LATAM Group. In June 2023, passenger demand measured in RPK grew by 33% compared to the same month in 2022. Furthermore, the supply of seats, measured in ASK, grew by 28.1%.
The occupancy rate rose to 83% in the period.
