Airbus released its deliveries and new orders report for July 2023. After a slow start to the year, the European company improved its numbers and delivered 65 new aircraft to 36 customers. During the period, 60 orders were placed for new aircraft.
The manufacturer has already delivered 381 aircraft to 76 customers in the year, representing an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year. The company expects to deliver 720 planes this year, with just over half of that already delivered.
For comparison, Boeing delivered 309 planes in the year, lagging behind in absolute numbers, but showed a relative growth of 28%, greater than Airbus compared to the same period last year.
Airbus accumulated 1,101 net orders this year, ahead of its American rival, which had 467 net orders this year. Airbus' backlog is nearly 8000 aircraft, of which around 7% are for unnamed customers.
